Recovering from the Christmas Party

Well, last night was my company's holiday party and the beautiful Arbor Day Lodge and Conference Center in Nebraska City. As usual, the food was delicious and (again, as usual) I didn't win any of the door prizes. I was happy that one of my colleagues did win a $50 gas card. I can't remember the last time someone from the IT department won something.

The big news from the party was that the hypnotist that performed after the meal supposedly put a woman, who was 8 months pregant, into labor by telling her the baby was 45 pounds and she needed to push. Probably not the smartest thing he's ever done. Lawsuit, anyone?

It's becoming a tradition to have a mini-party in our hotel room at the Lodge during the "big" party. I'm not much of a dancer, so when the band comes on, I guess I look for other entertainment. Last year, we brought our Rock Band gear and played that. This year, we brought the Wii. One of my work buddies brought his Wii Fit, and we had a pretty good time playing it. I found out I'm pretty bad at most Wii games when I'm inebriated, but I do pretty well at Wii Fit slalom skiing...or maybe I just got lucky (which is much more likely).

Anyway, back to work tomorrow. Hopefully the weather will improve. It's been a pretty rough winter so far here in the midwest. We had over 30" of snowfall in December and, if the almanac holds true, we're in for a bunch more.

Until next time...Cheers!

My First Blog Post!

Well, here I am...37 years old and I've never had a Blog! And I'm a software developer! I'm really behind the times here! Anyway, I really don't know where this thing will go...if anywhere. But I thought I should have one.

As you can probably tell, I'm a Nebraska fan. Born and raised here and I bleed Husker red...just like you do. I've worked in the IT department of a power company for almost 13 years now. I'm happily married (11 years now) and have three wonderful children.

Anyway, check back once in awhile to see if I've added anything new. Who knows what you might find!

Cheers...and GO HUSKERS!
